Drop anything in.
Start answering.

Give langcap a video, a podcast, an ebook, a PDF, or a web page in the language you're learning. It pulls questions straight out of your own media and keeps asking, choosing what's useful next. Leave it open and there's always a question waiting.

The loop

It doesn't run a lesson. It keeps asking.

There's nothing to set up — no deck, no lesson plan. langcap reads what you dropped in, finds something worth asking about, and asks. Answer it, and the next question is ready. It keeps going as long as you do.

It mines your media

Every question comes from the exact thing you dropped in — a line, a word, a turn of phrase. Never a generic word list.

It picks what's useful next

It weighs what you missed, what's due for review, and what's just past your level, and chooses for you.

And it asks again

Answer one, and another takes its place. There's no finish line — just the next useful thing.

Always on

It lives in your tray.
A question is always one glance away.

langcap sits in your Windows tray. Open it to answer a few, or let it slip you a question now and then while you work — you set how often. Close it, and it picks up where you left off.

One screen, one question — so it drops into a small popup with nothing to navigate. The whole app is the question. (A dock app on macOS, later.)

Control

You don't manage it. You steer it.

There's nothing to organize and no schedule to keep. Nudge what it draws from, then let it run.

Want finer control? Point it at a local model and steer in plain language — it still never leaves your machine.

Works with what you already have

Have subtitles? It picks them up on its own — no need to add them.

Questions

Good to know

Which languages does it work with?

Whatever language your media is in — langcap detects it per file, so you never set it. The major languages are in at beta, with more added over time.

Does it need an internet connection?

No. Once it's set up, langcap runs entirely on your machine and your media never leaves it. Some speech models download the first time you use them; after that, you can work offline.

What can I drop in?

Video (mp4, mkv, mov), audio (mp3, m4a, wav), ebooks (epub), PDFs, and web pages or links. If a video has subtitles, it uses them on its own.

What does it cost?

A one-time $89 at launch — you own it and it keeps working for good. The first year of updates is included; after that it's an optional $39/year to keep getting them. The founding pre-order is $59 and fully refundable until launch.

When will it be ready?

The Windows beta is coming soon, with macOS to follow. Join the list or pre-order and you'll be among the first in.

Is my data really private?

Yes. There's no account and nothing to upload. Your files stay in your folders, the questions are mined locally, and the optional model runs on your own hardware.

Private by design

Nothing leaves your machine.

Your files stay in your folders. Questions are mined on your own machine, and the optional model runs on your hardware — no account, no upload, no cloud round-trip. You own your copy outright.
